Swim MeetsDownload the CCHS Swim & Dive 2016-17 meet schedule here. Swim meets typically start quickly in December. Some years there are meets over the Christmas holiday. January is packed with swim meets which get more exciting as we get closer to the DCL championship meet and swimmers start to qualify for both Sectionals and States.

Meets are held during the week and on Friday evenings.

Typically, there is practice during the Christmas holiday and swimmers are expected to attend.

Registration - All swimmers and divers must register online with Family ID and have a current physical form on file with CCHS. Visit the Athletics Page of the CCHS website for the registration link and further details:

November 28 - First Practice

November 30 (tentative) - Coach's meeting for Parents

Relay Carnival - The winter swim season always opens with the famous Relay Carnival! This is an action packed Friday Night where all swimmers have a chance to get some early competition and have some fun. The Carnival is usually the first Friday of the season and held at the Atkinson Pool in Sudbury.

Swim team tradition has swimmers returning to CCHS on buses and they typically make plans to extend the team spirit by heading off in groups to the 99 Restaurant in West Concord for late night eating.

Parents often help with the driving, but upper class swimmers legal to driver others also carpool swimmers. Freshman parents are encouraged to check in with the captains or other parents if they have questions around the carpooling.

Holiday Party - Swim team traditions include a holiday party organized by the Captains.

Shave & Dye Party - Another longstanding tradition of fun and motivation is the Shave & Dye party held just before the DCLs. Heads are shaved, hair is dyed and everyone is psyched to leave the rest of the league in their bubbles after this prep for the DCL.

DCL Championships - The DCL (Dual County League) is one of the most competitive leagues in the state. Typically, many state champions come out of this league, including CCHS swimmers each year. This Championship meet is the last opportunity for swimmers to qualify for the Sectional or State meets. We will post swim cut times when they are available. DCLs are usually late Jan/early Feb.

Sectional & State Championships - Swimmers must qualify for these very competitive meets. The team usually has a limited number of spectator tickets based on the number of qualifiers and others are available for sale. Watch for communication from FOSD about latest details on times, tickets and other details.

Tech Suit - Over the past few years, "Tech Suits" have become more common not only for the State Championship but for DCL and Sectionals. These suits streamline the swimmers and can contribute to setting new Personal Record (PR) times as well as helping them shave crucial seconds to help qualify or win a meet.  Tech suits are STRICTLY OPTIONAL as they can be very expensive $200-$500. Typically, the team works to provide access to a discount purchase sometime in January, once you know whether your swimmer will likely be in the "post-season".  If you have question about these suits, please reach out to a captain or one of the parents on FOSD.
